First-class, highly motivated, driven people. Extremely thorough and very precise.

“Real advice for the real world.” Surprisingly, the inspiration for our award winning approach was as straight-forward as that.

It's redefined the way we do business and the way legal services are delivered - which has proved to be so much better for our clients and for our own people too.

Join us, and you'll be joining a team that's built on innovative thinking and collaborative working. We think and look out for each other - across sectors, disciplines, levels and clients. It's a strategy that sets us apart from the rest.

For further information about joining Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner as a partner, please contact Shruti Srivastava in the strictest confidence.

Fee Earners

As a fee earner with us, you'll provide pragmatic advice that's grounded in commercial objectives. Advice that you can believe in and be confident delivering. What's more, you'll be able to bring more than your talent to the role - you'll be encouraged to bring your individuality. After all, personal commitment to our clients is definitely a Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner quality.

Knowledge Management

Having the right information at our finger-tips is essential. It makes our jobs more efficient - and it means we can provide an even better service to our clients. However the right information, more often than not, is made up of knowledge from a range of disciplines. It's rare for any project to truly fall into just one category. And that's exactly why we've developed a brand new IT system to bring together knowledge from across the firm and let us share expertise at every level.

It's an innovative approach to joined-up thinking. One that's developed from our already collaborative culture here and helped us to transform the level of service we can offer our clients. Adding value, insight, efficiency and effectiveness.

We encourage our fee earners to take up secondment opportunities. These include:

  • ‘in-house’ secondments with our clients across corporate and financial institutions; and
  • secondments to our offices in the UK and globally

Our firm is at a key juncture in its strategic diversification of its sources of profitable revenues. This focuses on geographic sources as well as product sources. In geographic terms, Asia is a key market for our firm and we are concentrating a great deal of thought, action and work on developing our client relationships, product coverage and streams of revenue from this important region. We have branded our approach as “One Asia” and we are seeking a collaborative, integrated and fully coordinated style in taking this forward.

While we are a relatively recent arrival to Asia, we are driving an ambitious but sensible programme in the region. We hope you would like to be part of this dynamic team – conquering new heights. Together.

Edward Stewart, Associate (former Trainee Solicitor)

“I’m currently a trainee in the Commercial group and out on secondment at Barclays. The opportunity of working in-house at such a large organisation has been great but it has made me appreciate being part of an organisation’s core business, rather than supporting that core.

I’m going to Moscow for a seat in the Corporate Finance team, which I’m really looking forward to, even with the harsh Russian winter (at least to my Antipodean blood) to contend with.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the amount of responsibility that a trainee is entrusted with, right from day one. I’ve regularly been in touch with clients in relation to my chargeable work but I’ve also helped with business development and been encouraged to network with clients and prospective clients at a variety of events that the firm holds.

If Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner is of interest to you, don’t be worried if you think a hobby or interest of yours is weird or should be played down – make sure your personality comes through in your applications.”

“Fantastic place to work, very innovative and, as lawyers, we always try to exceed client expectations. This is something that is a key part of the way in which we are encouraged to develop. Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner is very different to other City law firms - there is an open door policy which goes right to the top and associates are encouraged to put across ideas, which is also different to other firms. There is also an easy going atmosphere in which to work.

Associates are all given mentors, are strongly encouraged to develop at all stages and meet criteria at each level of their career. There are so many other activities, social and otherwise. I would encourage anyone to come to Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner - it is a fantastic place in which to develop and progress your career within a fun environment.”

Tessa Hastie, Associate Director - Knowledge Development Lawyer, Corporate Finance

“I joined the firm over six years ago as a KDL. I chose it as they seemed a friendly firm with clear ideas and strategies on the direction of know-how. I started as the corporate KH manager with a team of two part-time KDLs and an information officer managing corporate finance, BTS, Investment Management and to a certain extent Employment know-how.

Six years on I am an Associate Director - Knowledge Development Lawyer co-managing a team of five KDLs. This demonstrates the firm’s commitment to KH and the importance it places on it. Even though the KDL function has changed in the past few years, the firm maintains a friendly approach and clear strategies on know-how that first attracted me to the position.”
